About the Founders

Al-Farouq Aminu and his wife Helina Aminu are the founders of Aminu Good Works Foundation. Being both of African descent they were inspired to establish the Foundation in 2016 to provide healthy and educational support for underserved communities in Africa.

They are entrepreneurs and are active in their communities here in the US and abroad. Rouq is an 8-year veteran in the NBA, currently playing for the Portland Trail Blazers. Helina manages the couple’s real estate development work. They are both passionate about providing a platform for underprivileged children to thrive. Their philanthropic generosity spans years and they remain dedicated to working to reduce humanitarian challenges. The Aminus have personally donated over $100,00 to their Foundation.

Our Foundation’s Vision

To live in a world where every underprivileged child gets the opportunity to live a healthy and empowered life.

Our Foundation’s Mission

To empower underprivileged children and promote healthy lifestyles. We do this through athletic camps and programs that teach life skills, career development and that promote academic excellence and education.
